Meet Dr. Dani Gray
Owner & Dentist
My name is Dr. Dani Gray and I graduated from the University of Louisville in 2009 with a degree in psychology where I was a NCA champion cheerleader. I stayed busy, cheering for the UofL Men’s basketball and football teams, and earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2013. One of my proudest moments was winning the Occlusal Award at the University of Louisville. It enabled me to go to Miami and learn at the Pankey Institution to expand my knowledge on TMJ disorders.
Following my career at the University of Louisville, I served as an associate dentist at practices in St. Louis, Missouri and Clarksville, Tennessee before joining Smith Dental in 2015. I gained the experience of building a brand new dental office from the ground up at Smith Dental and realized I had a lot of patients travel from Kentucky to see me. So I thought, why not build a dental home for patients in need? Now, I’m on this amazing journey of having my own practice, Renew Dental, and making my dream practice come to life.
Ironically, I experience dental anxiety myself, and I always request nitrous oxide sedation during my own dental treatment. I completely understand where patients are coming from, and I will always go out of my way to create a dental experience at Renew Dental that is welcoming, inviting, comfortable, and accommodating. As an adolescent, I had congenitally missing teeth, which created gaps in my smile, and I was teased as a child. After visiting an oral surgeon and orthodontist I finally had a smile I was proud of, and built up the confidence to join my cheer squad. It’s come full circle since now I’m helping to build that same confidence I received in others!
I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I take pride in my craft, and promise to be your personal cheerleader when it comes to dental health. Dentistry is not a job, it’s my hobby!
I also believe in being a lifelong student. As a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, 8 District Society and Academy of General Dentistry, I believe it is important to continue my education, as dentistry and technology evolves, so I can give the best care to my patients.
In my free time, I love playing tooth fairy to my nieces and nephews, visiting the lake with my husband and friends, traveling, and being a mom to my precious fur babies!
I truly appreciate having the opportunity of being your dentist, and getting to know you! Now sit back, relax, and don’t fear because I’m here! And if you have any questions, just give us a call!
Meet the Squad
Salathiel knows how to “cheer” on our patients and make sure they are always at ease. This Remington College graduate was also a competitive cheerleader (like Dr. Gray) and whenever the younger patients are nervous, she knows how to lift their spirits by doing a flip for them for a job well done.
She also is our beauty enthusiast, with her love for makeup and constant compliments for her eyebrows always being on point. She is a true beauty from the inside out and has been a great mentor for her two sisters and two brothers.
Sylvia is the organizer of our practice and makes sure we are covered day-to-day. She has helped changed smiles for over 25 years and her passion is making the treatment Dr. Gray has projected come to reality. She works with patients and addresses any concerns they may have to ensure a beautiful and healthy smile.
Originally from Arizona, she is married with three daughters and moved to Tennessee in 2009. Sylvia is no stranger to cheerleading herself as a modern day cheer mom as her daughter made the UT Martin (Football and Basketball) Cheer Squad in 2017. When she’s not cheering on her patients, you’ll find her outdoors, spending time with family and spoiling her granddaughter.
Gina is our hygiene expert, making sure our patients are healthy and educated on their smile. A graduate from Lake Land College, she has been in the dental field since 1984 and has been a hygienist since 1997.
Her passion for dentistry exudes and she loves watching patients improve their overall oral health! She especially loves building trust with each patient and blossoming their relationship from patients to friends. Gina is always a bright spirit to have in the office and has an amazing way to be sure patients know what’s going on and always feel comfortable.
Outside of the office, she loves to travel with her husband and two kids, as well as boating, crafting and gardening.
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Kristen has worked as a dental assistant since 2005 and completed her expanded functions certification in 2009. She loves being able to make patients smile their biggest smile and being a part of the Renew family.
When she’s not at the office she’ll be spending her time with her husband and their perfect and crazy little girl.
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Ty is currently a senior and former cheerleader at Austin Peay State University. He plans to graduate in May 2019 with a degree in Exercise Science along with a minor in Psychology.
After graduation he plans to obtain a second degree in Dental Hygiene and continue his dental career with Renew Dental. For now, he floats around the practice and assists anywhere that is needed. He loves to dance and bring his high-energy and excitement to Renew Dental!
Jenn graduated from West Liberty University in 2003 with a degree in dental hygiene and has worked
in the dental field since 1996 after she obtained her degree in dental assisting.
She has a true passion of helping people understand the effects of oral health to our overall
health. Jenn also loves meeting new people and understanding their dental fears to help them have the
best experience possible.
Her family got stationed here when she was 4 years old and her dad finished out his military career
here and has a wonderful husband of 13 years and we love to travel.
Briggs knows how to put our patients at ease with his calm-natured spirit. His number one goal is to make everyone have an enjoyable experience at Renew Dental, no matter how ruff their day might be. Briggs was a big support for Dr. Gray through long nights and early mornings during dental school and throughout her career, so she wanted to be sure he played a role at her practice. Plus, being an older dog, she wanted to be sure she got as much time with him, and what better way than being around something they are both passionate about.
In 2017, he received his license to be an emotional support animal. So occasionally, you’ll see this furry mascot hanging around Dr. Gray’s office. He loves attention so feel free to stop by and say hi whenever. Briggs also enjoys cuddling, sleeping and watching sports with his mom and dad, but refuses to choose Ohio State or Louisville through the divided house of football.
